Israel trip

A week ago I returned from a trip to Israel that was organized by Global CCC, with some other leaders from around the world. The purpose was to focus on the way Jesus prepared the disciples to get the message to the end of the world. It has been a tremendous experience and reading the Bible will never be the same after this trip.

Like for example. Yesterday Hebrews ended the feast of Tabernacle, when they celebrate and recall all that God has provided for them in the past year, and will pray to him to provide and bless their crops. In Jesus’ time, this feast culminated when the priests would fill water at the Siloam’s pool and would pour it around the altar as a sign of the pouring of God’s rain of blessings. Just at this moment, as we read at John 7:37-38, that Jesus stood and said in a loud voice:
“Let anyone who is thirsty come to me and drink. 38 Whoever believes in me, as Scripture has said, rivers of living water will flow from within them.”
Imagine the disturbance that it might have been created. When the priest pours out the water as a prayer to God to provide water for the people, Jesus speaks as to answer their prayer by inviting people to go to him for water, thus making himself equal with God.

Today as I write this, many people are thirsty and seeking for water in all directions but Jesus. And today Jesus’ invitation stands true to each of them, as it was 2000 years ago. What a privilege to be his vessels so that the weary and the lost can find him. Please pray for an abundant spiritual harvest during this new academic year and that God will raise labors in Macedonia, Bosnia & Herzegovina, Montenegro, Kosovo and Albania which are our assigned ministry countries.
